Anniversary Trip Getaways…Episode 1

We do pay attention to wedding anniversaries, so each year we make a trip to celebrate our anniversary in different cities; either my dream destination, or my husband’s

Prior to exploring our trips, let me share little bit of good information you might be interested in. There are traditional wedding anniversary “symbols” that represent each year.  Some people base a gift based on the list and make something romantic from the choice material, or find a gift that uses the traditional gift symbol.
However, I still have not followed traditional suggestions, yet.  Perhaps I will…some day. I may also suggest to my husband a gift idea on our 60th anniversary. :p

1st Anniversary Getaway in Duluth & Grand Marais, Minnesota

Starting our new life together was expensive and I did not have a job at that time, so our first anniversary getaway in some far-away state was temporarily pushed aside. We just spent our relaxing weekend in Duluth, Minnesota a well-known tourist destination. It is located in northern Minnesota on the shores of Lake Superior. This is a short trip; about 3 hours’ drive to get up there. We just explored restaurants and souvenir shops.

After we began our day and night in Duluth, we drove further to Grand Marais, another attractive destination tourism area in North Shore. There are many neat things to see over here.

The city of Grand Marais

We got something to eat at a restaurant and enjoyed a harbor view in Grand Marais, then hit the road again.

Next was our driving adventure on the slippery road  in a forest somewhere in the state parks.

See you soon…Next Episode… 2nd Anniversary in Chicago, Illinois
